{"id":469,"date":"2020-08-15T00:01:01","date_gmt":"2020-08-15T04:01:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/citizensforconservationtt.org\/home\/?p=469"},"modified":"2020-08-15T00:01:01","modified_gmt":"2020-08-15T04:01:01","slug":"mille-fleurs-the-new-home-of-the-national-trust","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citizensforconservationtt.org\/home\/mille-fleurs-the-new-home-of-the-national-trust\/","title":{"rendered":"Mille Fleurs &#8211; The New Home of the National Trust"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>MILLE\u00a0 FLEURS<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>National Heritage Site<\/strong><br \/>\nMonument of the Greater Caribbean<\/p>\n<p><strong>The New Home of the National Trust.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Mille Fleurs has been restored, and will house the offices of The National Trust on its Premises.<\/p>\n<p>Recalling that CfC was set up with the sole purpose of lobbying for a National Trust, this is indeed a milestone to be celebrated.<\/p>\n<p>Citizens for Conservation congratulates the National Trust on finally acquiring a home.<\/p>\n<p>Our lobby for the restoration of this historic building began thirty years ago and has been a long and stressful journey, begun by our founding members and continued by our various executive committees over the years.<\/p>\n<p>The National Trust Council took up our lobby for the restoration, and tirelessly managed to work alongside us, with various Governments on this objective. It has been difficult and heart breaking at times but we now have come to an impressive milestone.<\/p>\n<p>Our restored Landmark Building looks beautiful.<\/p>\n<p>There is still much work to be done to allow for occupancy by Trust Staff and to make the building compliant with codes for the differently abled, but we are well on our way.
