Doré Bible
The Doré Bible in St. Patrick’s Anglican Church in Tobago, is in two volumes, leather bound, illuminated and printed on thin Bible paper with engraved illustrations by Pau, Gustave Doré. Volume I, which contains the Old Testament, measures 15cm x30cmx40cm and Vol II, which contains the New Testament, measures 10cmx30cmx40cm. St. Patrick’s Anglican Church was constructed in 1837-1843, and is the oldest church in Tobago.
Older ones were destroyed by the Hurricane Flora in 1963.
